Chief Scouts Gold Awards
Knutsford District Scouts has been celebrating the achievement of 20 young people who have received their Chief Scout’s Gold award.
Kieran Philp from the 2nd Knutsford Troop received the top award at a presentation ceremony on Sunday, 6th November, along with Catherine Eadie, Grace Haselden and Dominic Mather from 1st Mobberley.
Sophie Bale, Jake Brito, James Brudy, William Brudy, Oscar Edmondson, Nathan Fletcher, William Jones, Michael Kerr, Joe Lasham, James Lees, Josh Lynes, Alex McInnes, Ted Owen, Jack Pass, Freddie Pass and James Philpott from 5th Knutsford Troop were also amongst those to receive the Chief Scout’s Gold award.
A presentation ceremony was held at Warrington’s Parr Hall at which more than 250 Scouts from across the county attended, watched by their proud families.
The awards were handed out by David Briggs, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire and resident of Mobberley, who expressed his admiration for the hard work that had gone into achieving these awards which are the highest available to the Scout section.
Knutsford district recipients came from the 1st Mobberley, 2nd Knutsford and 5th Knutsford troops.
District Commissioner Martin Relton said “Completing the Chief Scout’s Gold Award takes an incredible amount of dedication and commitment, so it’s quite an achievement for all these young people and we are delighted to have had so many recipients.”
